Generation C

Is ‘Generation C’ an age group or a mindset - why? It is a mindset because they span in different generations, empowered by technology to look for content that is authentic. They consume across all platforms and screens. Because even 65% of the group are under 35, members are in different groups of ages, also different generations, their main focus is technology, be connected, sharing, communicated the content that is important to them. 2. What are the characteristics and motivations of Gen C? How is this a cultural shift? • Because they thrive on Connection, Community, Creation and Curation; they’re engaged and they want their voices to be heard. • Gen C is unique because they are highly engaged, making purposeful decisions about the way they choose to live their lives. • They are motivated by honesty and integrity. • They are motivated by a new way of learning, sharing, searching and finding information. • They are empowered by technology, living in the moment, always on. • Some people are forced to use technology because is needed. • And they’re proud to give back more than they take on. It is a shift because first of all they grew up with technology, also internet is not anymore behind a computer, you have internet in your smartphone, tablet, and restaurants, about anywhere you have access. They have a great variety of contents to choose from, you can access in real time, don’t have to wait to see it on your tv, movies, or listen in the radio. The customer has more choices of brands; also have the information on their devices, the research of a product, and the feedback from the customers is available. 3. Why is sharing important to Gen C? What are the implications for personal privacy and security? • Creation means to make something valuable and share it with others. We do this because it’s empowering and necessary for our world." • Sharing is important because the ideas and knowledge of people can add up and help in the learning process and construction of hole new ideas and improved knowledge. • They’re natural born curators, quenching their thirst for connection by seeking out ‘shareworthy’ content, including content from advertisers, which they can use to provoke a reaction and reinforce emotional connections within their community. Security and privacy has to be manage carefully due to sharing and interacting opens our world and all our information to others. The person that is sharing information all the time leaves a back door, that people might take advantage like stealing personal information, bank information, etc. There has to be rules and guidelines in what kind of information you are going to share, have protection, different passwords on your accounts, never share more than you need, don’t give out passwords, phone numbers, hired a professional o at least be informed in how to protect yourself.
